The days turned into weeks. Weeks into a two unexpected months later, yet Cassie couldn't tell you where that time had gone.
For the most part, things remained unchanged. Cassie had been settling in well to her new surroundings, getting to know people and just take it all in. She had applied for countless jobs however, she had been unsuccessful so far. Despite not being able to get something more permanent, she managed to help out around San Sequoia doing odd jobs for various residents. It wasn't much of an income but it was better than nothing.
Despite the lack of frequent income, Cassie was happy for the most part. San Sequoia almost felt like home, but there still felt like something was missing, she just didn't know what.
Things at home were a little on the quiet side as of late. Kyle had gone away to spend some time with family, and there had been no other new housemates. Her relationship with Kyle was going well. Spending numerous nights watching silly videos on SimzTube, going to the local cinema or just going for a walk around the lake. They weren't dating, however, there was definitely some kind of connection there. She just knew there was.
Was it mixed feelings, was it because she was missing Kyle and his spontaneous behaviour, making her laugh or just being a friend to lean on when she was having a bad day, she wasn't sure. Either way, there were only a couple more weeks until he would be back at the house.
In the meantime, Cassie sat at the local library and was researching potential courses at the Foxbury and Britechester Universities, as well as other potential opportunities. Her search felt like it was going nowhere until she saw an advert for learning to ride horses in a place called Chestnut Ridge.
She made a note about it in her notebook along with a few other things she wanted to come back to and headed home.
Horse riding had always been something she wanted to do, but due to frequently moving around when she was younger, she never got the chance. Maybe now was the time. After all, what was stopping her?
Cassie took the long way home as the Summer weather was so nice. She placed her headphones on and turned up the music loud. She chose her 'Summer Bops' playlist and drifted away to the sound of Dumdi Dumdi on her walk home.
Upon arriving home, she grabbed the mail from the mailbox and set it on the side to come back to later. However, what she didn't notice at first glance was the mysterious looking letter addressed to her hidden amongst all the junk mail. On second glance, she spotted it and carefully set it to one side. Cassie had a suspicion as to what it could be, but at the same time was really hoping it wouldn't be a letter from Strangetown. She decided to ignore it and add it to the box with the other letters to open one day. Today was just not that day.
What happens next? Maybe a trip to Chestnut Ridge? Maybe a trip to one of the university campuses? What was in the mysterious letter? Looks like Cassie may have some bigger decisions to make that she was intending on making this soon!
