Hello! It's been a while hasn't it? Hope you're doing well!
It has been a few weeks since I last posted any kind of update to Cassie's Playlist and I'll admit it was due to a few different reasons.
Firstly, the biggest one is real life. Readjusting to some changes in various aspects of my life and just trying to regain some kind of normality. Vague I know but that's a story for another day possibly and one I don't want to bore anyone with the details of at the moment.
Secondly, amongst all of the ideas I've had for Cassie's story, I hit a bit of a brick wall. As I was writing notes for the next few parts, I hated the direction I was going in. I felt like I was stuck in a loop of planning, writing and then deleting everything. No matter what I was doing, it just wasn't coming together how I wanted it to.
I ended up just stepping back from it for a few days and told myself to take it right back to basics. Read the first few chapters again and go from there. Simple right? After a few drafts, I eventually had some content that made sense and worked. Who knew it was that easy in the end.
Essentially, I think where I have so many grand ideas for how I wanted this to play out over time, I was overcomplicating what I actually wanted to do at this moment in the story. Realistically I'm still setting the scene and introducing characters and places.
I also recently started a new Digital Sim Planner from Yellow Llama Co so that I can experiment with some ideas and get them written down in something I can read and edit on the go. It's incredibly messy but it's allowing me to work on some alternative story ideas that may one day turn into actual parts of the story. I guess only time will tell I guess!
